Since we first started working with Guy’s & St Thomas’ in 2018, we’ve designed and built a wide range of online modules on both professional skills and clinical topics, including:

• Coaching and Mentoring

• Resilience

• Safeguarding Adults

• Research Delivery Staff Induction

• Infection Prevention and Control

• Recognising and Responding to Acutely Unwell Patients

Working with busy NHS staff is rewarding but challenging, and a typical project involves us doing most of the heavy lifting when it comes to generating ideas for interactivity and multimedia elements. The modules contain lots of embedded elements such as videos, H5P activities, and Vyond animations, giving learners an engaging and varied experience.

Using Articulate 360 (Rise), we can rapidly build modules which staff can review online whenever they have time, leaving comments and suggestions to guide our editing, as we work through the necessary iterations. This approach allowed us to build a suite of modules to upskill doctors and nurses drafted into Intensive Care Units during the first wave of the coronavirus pandemic in just a few days.
